LSTER makes his debut on Gravitas Recordings June 16th with a groovy bass EP “In Real Time” full of top-tier sound design, glitchy beats and a fresh idea of bass music. This fast-paced journey follows different styles and concepts that LSTER has been working on, while flowing flawlessly through these different sounds. The EP is composed of very pretty and emotional moments as well as intense dance moments with drum oriented groovers. Listeners can expect a wide variety of vibes when listening as each song tells its own story.
“This EP is titled In Real Time. I came to this name because I felt like it represented this group of tunes perfectly. As an artist, when you make advancements in music production you tend to fall in love with what you're currently working on, but your older works seem juvenile in a sense. These 4 songs represent my recent growth as a musician/ artist and all of the lessons I've acquired in the last couple months. I’m continuously growing in real-time and continuing to release the pieces that I’m most proud of.” - LSTER
Cruising Through starts off the EP with trippy sound effects and synths that make the listener feel like they are cruising through space. It quickly drops into a lively downtempo drop with huge bass growls accompanied by the original spacey synth, never taking away from the epic soundscape created by the intro. The second drop follows the same pattern while adding in more glitchy sound effects and perfect vocal chops, making it feel as if it is building to something much bigger. Mal Funktion does just that and leans more into the glitchy bass sound that we have grown so fond of. Heavy fast-paced wubs and perfect drum grooves can’t keep the listener from swaying along to this one, and is a standout track and the only single off the EP. The Experiment pulls back from this tempo and opens with live flute and tribal voices, truly feeling like a different style and experiment that LSTER was trying out. It drops into heavy fast kicks and perfect silent moments to accentuate each downbeat hit, paired with catchy string instruments all around that reel in the listener into a trance. Feel Real closes the EP by taking an emotional journey of opening piano and beautiful female vocals off in the distance. It drops into heavy wubs and full female vocals while still a slower track and meditative rhythm, truly a full emotional journey without ever going too hard to take the listener out of the rhythm. A perfect way to close a surreal EP and showcase his sound.
